      "markdown": "It's me, the maker of this little social experiment in cross-protocol, open web social web making... thing. I have no idea what this will be, but we'll see how long it all lasts.\n\nYou may notice some rough edges. This whole thing was slopcoded, and I'll do a human pass when it's in a good place. But it's coming along pretty nicely!\n\n## the idea\nWhereas a platform like [Write.as](https://write.as) was built more for focused, intentional writing that doesn't necessarily have to reach an audience -- in 2015 I just needed to shout into the void -- much has changed on the web. New protocols have made it so we can build neat little apps on the open web that are all social and interoperable while remaining independent.\n\nSo this is social blogging on the open web. Each blog is a first-class social profile on ActivityPub and ATproto (specifically, a [standard.site](https://standard.site) publication), so readers can follow on their social network of choice and interact with your posts wherever they live online. It sends and receives Webmentions, and surfaces interactions from across the social web (like comments and Likes) right here on your blog. \n\nGive it a try with this blog to see it in action and follow along with development. See the section on the right for how to do that."
