"textContent": "\n\n\n\n\n\nReport above via KGET.\n\nCalifornia’s primary election to decide which two gubernatorial candidates will face off in November’s election is over, but we may not know the results until next month, LOL. There are nearly two million votes left to be counted, and the report below from CNN’s Elex Michaelson explains why it takes so long to find out who won:\n\n> Why does California take so long to count ballots?\n>\n> In short, the state’s leaders have prioritized expanding last minute options to vote by mail over a quick count. pic.twitter.com/t6Jw5LlWC4\n>\n> — Elex Michaelson (@Elex_Michaelson) June 4, 2026\n\nI feel insane to admit that I voted for billionaire Tom Steyer, but there was no way I could vote for the empty suit and corporate puppet Xavier Becerra, who is bought and paid for by Chevron, Uber, Anthem Blue Cross, and all the energy companies. At least Steyer is only beholden to himself, given he spent hundreds of millions of his own money to fund his campaign. There are supposed to be a couple of big ballot drops/vote counts Thursday night and Friday night, so we might know if Steyer actually stands a chance before the weekend. Or, this might really take another couple weeks.",
