What the Among Us series is about
The series follows a group of eccentric, monochromatic crewmates aboard a ship hauling junk across the galaxy. Their routine mission falls apart once an Impostor, an alien shapeshifter, starts sabotaging the ship and picking off the crew. The crew has to identify the Impostor before it kills everyone, which mirrors the core loop of the game.
It is based on Innersloth's Among Us , the multiplayer social deduction game that launched in 2018 and surged in popularity in 2020. Owen Dennis, the creator of Infinity Train , developed the show, and Titmouse handled the animation. The series comes from CBS Studios and CBS Eye Animation Productions, with executive producers including Dennis, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, Ben Kalina, and Innersloth's Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Carl Neisser.
Who voices the crew
The cast voices the colored crewmates of the starship Skeld, with each character assigned a role on board.
| Actor | Character | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Randall Park | Red | Ship's captain |
| Ashley Johnson | Purple | Head of security |
| Dan Stevens | Blue | Doctor |
| Patton Oswalt | White | Rich contest winner |
| Debra Wilson | Yellow | Cook |
| Phil LaMarr | Brown | Cook |
| Elijah Wood | Green | Intern |
| Kimiko Glenn | Cyan | Gemologist |
| Liv Hewson | Black | Geologist |
| Wayne Knight | Lime | Engineer |
| Yvette Nicole Brown | Orange | Head of human resources |
The game itself remains widely available across platforms, including mobile, and has expanded into a VR title and a 3D version. The animated series gives that same root-out-the-Impostor premise a scripted, episodic form, and every episode is ready to stream on Paramount+ as soon as you sign in.
