Prune build guide for Genshin Impact (Luna VII / 6.6)

Prune is a 4-star Anemo Catalyst arriving in Luna VII (version 6.6). She works as a Hexerei sub-DPS and support whose buffs scale off her own ATK, which shapes nearly every build decision: stack ATK, hold high Energy Recharge for Burst uptime, and lean on Anemo Swirl utility to amplify the rest of the team.

Quick answer: Run Prune with Skyward Atlas (or Oathsworn Eye as the 4-star pick), 4-piece Viridescent Venerer, and stat priority ATK% / Energy Recharge → ATK% → ATK%. Prioritize Elemental Burst talent first.

Why ATK scaling defines her build

Prune's team-wide damage buff is tied to her own ATK value, so every slot should reinforce that number while keeping her Burst online. She is not an on-field damage dealer, which means weapon passives that require front-line uptime or stacking via normal attacks are largely wasted on her. The goal is a clean rotation: enter, swirl, Burst, swap out.

Best weapons for Prune

Catalyst options break down cleanly between high-ATK premium picks and Energy Recharge tools. Pick based on whether your roster needs more buff strength or more Burst consistency.

Weapon Rarity Why it fits
Skyward Atlas 5★ High base ATK plus a 33.1% ATK secondary stat directly inflates her buff value.
Memory of Dust 5★ Provides a 49.6% ATK substat; the on-field stacking passive is mostly inactive on her, but the raw stat is still strong.
Oathsworn Eye 4★ Forgeable F2P option with an ATK secondary and an Energy Recharge passive that smooths Burst rotations.
Favonius Codex 4★ Generates particles for the whole team on CRIT hits; ideal when the party needs more battery support.
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers 3★ Cheap and effective; passes a large ATK buff to the next character on field after Prune swaps.

Skyward Atlas wins outright if you have it. If not, Oathsworn Eye is the most balanced 4-star, while Thrilling Tales remains a genuinely competitive 3-star option for any ATK-scaling main DPS standing behind her.

Best artifact sets

Two sets cover almost every Prune team. Viridescent Venerer is the default; Noblesse Oblige is the alternative when your DPS benefits more from a flat 20% team ATK boost than from elemental resistance shred.

Set 4-piece effect on Prune Best for
Viridescent Venerer Boosts Swirl damage and shreds the resistance of the swirled element by 40%. Default pick; pairs with any reaction-based or elemental DPS.
Noblesse Oblige +20% ATK to the entire party for 12s after her Burst. Teams centered on ATK-scaling DPS without other Noblesse holders.

Main stats stay the same across both sets:

Slot Main stat
Sands ATK% or Energy Recharge
Goblet ATK%
Circlet ATK%

For substats, prioritize Energy Recharge until her Burst is comfortable every rotation, then chase flat ATK and ATK%. CRIT stats are not useful here because her contribution is buffs and Swirl utility rather than personal damage.

Talent priority

Level her Elemental Burst first, then her Elemental Skill, and skip Normal Attack entirely. The Burst carries her buff value; the Skill mainly exists for particle generation and small off-field damage.

Burst > Skill > Normal Attack

Best teams

Prune slots cleanly into Hexerei comps anchored around Varka, but the Anemo support role lets her flex into older Mondstadt and Sumeru lineups too. The constant is an ATK-scaling main DPS standing in front of her buffs.

Team Notes
Prune / Varka / Nicole / Durin Core Hexerei composition; maximizes synergy with Varka's kit.
Prune / Venti / Nicole / Durin Double Anemo crowd control with Hexerei buff layering.
Prune / Klee / Fischl / Durin Pyro-focused Hexerei variant leveraging Klee's ATK scaling.
Prune / Clorinde / Fischl / Collei Aggravate-style team where VV's resistance shred amplifies Electro reactions.
Tartaglia / Prune / Nicole / Durin Vape/Hexerei hybrid; Childe enjoys the ATK buffs and Anemo shred.

Rotation notes

A standard rotation looks like Skill into Burst to drop her buffs and a Swirl, then swap to your main DPS for the damage window. Aim for roughly 140–160% Energy Recharge if you are not running a battery; drop closer to 120% with Favonius Codex or a second Anemo on the team. Keep her on the field only long enough to land a Swirl that benefits Viridescent Venerer.

📝

Note: Because her buff scales off her ATK at the moment of activation, avoid pairing her with snapshot-breaking weapon swaps mid-rotation. Burst, then leave the field.

Prune is straightforward to gear: stack ATK, keep the Burst running, and let Viridescent Venerer do the heavy lifting for the team. The harder question is whether you have a Hexerei or ATK-scaling carry to pair her with, and that is where her ceiling is set.
