Unlock requirements before crafting
The makeup sketches do not appear on their own. They sit behind the Legendary outfit progression, so the outfit has to come first.
Step 1: Complete the Version 2.5 main quest "Where All Souls Return" in Itzaland. This opens the Itzaland shard of the Heart of Infinity.
Step 2: Spend Whimstars in the Itzaland Heart of Infinity to unlock all nine sketches for the Slumber by Blossoms Legendary outfit. The full set requires roughly 25 Whimstars across its nodes.
Step 3: Return to the Itzaland Heart of Infinity and claim the five makeup sketches, which become available only after the outfit sketches are unlocked.
Step 4: Enhance the Boneyard essence-collection nodes (Animal Grooming, Collect, and Bug Catching) so high-quality plants, animals, and insects also drop their corresponding Essence items. Several makeup recipes depend on these.

Nela birds only spawn after their dragon-bone puzzle is solved using the Dragonbone Master ability. They can also only be groomed once per day, so plan ahead if multiple Nela Feathers are needed across other recipes.

How to confirm the makeup is unlocked
Once a piece is crafted, it appears under Nikki's Wardrobe in the makeup category. The five Slumber by Blossoms makeup items are separate cosmetics and can be applied independently of the outfit, including across different skin tones.
If the makeup sketches are missing from the Heart of Infinity, the most common reasons are an incomplete "Where All Souls Return" main quest, or unfinished outfit sketches for Slumber by Blossoms. Both must be cleared before the makeup nodes appear.
