Every Pokémon in Wild Zone 16 in Pokémon Legends: Z-A and How to Catch Them

All Things How April 10, 2026

Wild Zone 16 occupies the Bleu Plaza in the southwest corner of central Lumiose City, sitting just below Wild Zone 5 and near the Rust Syndicate Office. It unlocks after you complete Main Mission 24 — Reaching Rank C in the Z-A Royale, which means defeating the boss Corbeau. The recommended level here is 42, and the zone is home to seven catchable Pokémon, one Alpha, and a useful TM pickup.

Quick answer: The seven Pokémon in Wild Zone 16 are Falinks, Medicham, Flaaffy, Froakie, Barbaracle (night), Starmie (night), and Florges (day). Fast travel repeatedly to force rare spawns.

All Seven Pokémon in Wild Zone 16

Pokémon Type Spawn Location Time of Day Rarity
Falinks Fighting Cobbled paths throughout the zone Any Common
Medicham Fighting / Psychic Northeast corner pathways Daytime Common
Flaaffy Electric Grass at the back of the plaza Any Common
Froakie Water On top of the central monolith Any Rare
Florges Fairy Near the fountain in the north Daytime only Rare
Barbaracle Rock / Water Near the fountain in the north Nighttime only Common at night
Starmie Water / Psychic Near the fountain in the north Nighttime only Rare

Four of these Pokémon — Falinks, Medicham, Flaaffy, and Froakie — can appear during the day. The remaining three require you to pay attention to the in-game clock. Florges only shows up during daytime near the fountain, while Barbaracle and Starmie replace those daytime spawns at night in the same fountain area.

Catching Froakie in Wild Zone 16

Froakie is one of the trickiest catches here. When it spawns, it perches on top of the stone monolith in the center of the zone. The moment it spots you, it jumps down and bolts. You have two reliable options: throw a Quick Ball before it flees, or lead with a strong Pokémon that can knock it out in a single hit so you can weaken and capture it before it escapes. Sneaking up helps, since Froakie will run the instant it detects your approach.

💡

Froakie can also be obtained by completing Side Mission 9: A Challenge from Froakie, which is generally an easier path if you haven't caught one yet.

Hunting Florges and Starmie (Rare Spawns)

Florges and Starmie share the same spawn point near the fountain in the northern part of the zone, but they never appear at the same time of day. Florges is a rare daytime spawn that occasionally replaces one of the Medicham. Starmie is a rare nighttime spawn that occasionally replaces one of the Barbaracle.

The most efficient way to force either one to appear is to fast travel away from Wild Zone 16 and then teleport back. Each time you re-enter the zone, the spawns reset. You can also sit on a bench at a nearby Pokémon Center to shift between day and night, then return. Keep repeating this loop until Florges or Starmie shows up in the fountain area.

Switch to nighttime at a bench before entering the zone if you need both Barbaracle and Starmie. Barbaracle appears consistently at night, while Starmie requires multiple resets to replace one of the Barbaracle spawns.

Alpha Pokémon in Wild Zone 16

Pokémon Type Level Location
Ampharos Electric 53 On the grass near the Flaaffy at the back of the zone

There is only one Alpha in Wild Zone 16, and it is hard to miss. Alpha Ampharos stands among the Flaaffy in the grassy rear section of the plaza. At level 53, it hits significantly harder than the regular wild Pokémon here, so make sure your team is prepared before engaging. Ampharos does not appear in the standard seven-Pokémon checklist for the zone, but catching it is a solid way to add a powerful Electric-type to your roster.

TM 76 Liquidation Location

Wild Zone 16 also contains TM 76 (Liquidation), a strong physical Water-type move. The TM sits in the northwest quadrant of the zone inside a raised garden area. Be careful when picking it up — the Alpha Ampharos and several Flaaffy patrol this section, and they will aggro if you get too close. Either clear them out first or sneak around the edges to grab the TM without triggering a fight.

Best Pokémon to Prioritize

Many of the Pokémon in Wild Zone 16 can also be obtained through evolution — Flaaffy evolves from Mareep, Medicham from Meditite, Barbaracle from Binacle, Starmie from Staryu, and Florges from Floette. If you already have those pre-evolutions, the wild catches here are mainly useful for saving Candy or getting better stats.

The standout pick is Falinks , which gains access to a brand-new Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. If you haven't grabbed one yet, Wild Zone 16 is the easiest place to do it since Falinks spawns abundantly along the cobbled paths. Froakie is also worth catching here if you missed it earlier, though Side Mission 9 remains the simpler route to obtaining one.

With seven Pokémon, one Alpha, and a solid TM to collect, Wild Zone 16 rewards a couple of focused visits — one during the day and one at night — along with some patience for the rare fountain spawns.
