The Forge's Crimson Sakura Expansion Overhauls Island 3 Economy and Adds Island 4

All Things How February 23, 2026
Source

The Forge on Roblox dropped its biggest update yet on February 22, 2026, introducing Island 4 — Crimson Sakura — alongside a sweeping rebalance of Island 3's economy, ore drop rates, and pickaxe progression. This is Part 1 of the Crimson Sakura Expansion, and it touches nearly every system in the game while raising the level cap to 250.

Quick answer: The Crimson Sakura update adds Island 4 with new weapons, armor, enemies, quests, and the Kitsune Pickaxe, while dramatically improving ore drop chances (roughly 6x more common across the board) and reducing pickaxe prices by 15–40%.

Island 3 Economy and Drop Rate Rework

The most impactful part of this patch isn't the new island — it's the complete rebalancing of existing progression. Island 3 and the overall economy received what the developers call a "massive rework," and the numbers back that up. Every ore in the game had both its multiplier and its drop chance adjusted, making progression through earlier content significantly faster for players trying to reach Island 4.

Ore Drop Chance Changes

Drop chances improved dramatically. The numbers represent the denominator in a 1-in-X chance, so lower is better. Common ores like Tungsten went from 1-in-180 to 1-in-30, while ultra-rare drops like Gargantuan moved from 1-in-333,333 to 1-in-55,555. The pattern holds across every tier — roughly a 6x improvement in drop frequency.

Tungsten 180 30
Sulfur 215 36
Pumice 265 44
Graphite 315 52

Ore Multiplier Reductions

Alongside the improved drop rates, ore multipliers were reduced across the board by roughly 25%. This means each individual ore is worth less when sold or used, but you'll find them far more frequently. The net effect is a smoother, more consistent progression rather than relying on rare, lucky drops. A few notable examples: Gargantuan dropped from 25x to 15x, Heavenite from 20x to 13.7x, and Heart of the Island from 18.5x to 13x. The only ore that received a multiplier increase was Mosasaursit, which went from 7x to 7.5x.

Pickaxe Price Cuts and Stat Buffs

Pickaxe progression got a significant overhaul. Two pickaxes received both price reductions and stat improvements, while eight others had their prices lowered without stat changes.

The Demonic Pickaxe dropped from 500k to 300k gold, gained 20 Mine Power (180 → 200), and had its Luck Boost bumped from 0.51 to 0.53. The Tungsten Pickaxe went from 200k to 175k with Mine Power increasing from 150 to 165.

Pickaxe Old Price New Price
Aqua Pickaxe 375k 325k
Mist Pickaxe 500k 450k
Snow Pickaxe 750k 625k
Frost Pickaxe 1M 875k
Void Pickaxe 1.35M 1.1M
Prismatic Pickaxe 2M 1.5M
Heavenly Pickaxe 2.4M 2M
Dragon Head Pickaxe 2.75M 2.2M

The savings are substantial at the high end. The Prismatic Pickaxe alone costs 500k less than before, and the Dragon Head Pickaxe is 550k cheaper. Combined with the improved ore drop rates, players should reach Island 4 meaningfully faster than they would have under the old system.

Island 3 Area and Spawn Adjustments

Island 3's spawn distribution was reworked to better match the new economy. Pebble spawns increased in the first area, while icy rocks were removed from the entrance entirely. The middle section now spawns more icy rocks but fewer pebbles and icy boulders. Pebbles were also removed from the backside of Spider Cave.

The AFK Spot now spawns both icy rocks and boulders instead of being boulder-only, giving AFK farmers more variety. The Mother Nest was reworked to spawn only icy rocks and boulders (with boulders appearing more frequently) and now contains 2 Diamond Spiders and 1 Prismatic Spider. Crystal Spiders were removed from the Mother Nest entirely.

The Prismatic Spider had its HP cut from 7,500 to 4,500, making it significantly easier to take down. The Yeti also received changes: HP dropped from 10,000 to 8,000, but its base damage increased from 125 to 150 — so it dies faster but hits harder while alive.

Island 4: Crimson Sakura Content

The new island brings a full suite of content. New weapons, pickaxes, armor sets, quests, progression lines, enemies, and exclusive drops and crafting materials are all part of the expansion. The strongest pickaxe in the game is now the Kitsune Pickaxe , a Legendary-tier tool that costs 3,330,000 gold and packs 1,000 Mine Power, +10% Mine Speed, +85% Luck Boost, and 3 Rune Slots. You need it to break Blossom Boulders, the hardest rocks on Island 4.

Two main questlines anchor Island 4's progression. The Sensei Moro questline focuses on mining progressively harder ores, while the Shogun questline requires defeating increasingly tough enemies. The Shogun is located by heading right through the gate from the spawn point, taking a right at the fork, passing the guards, and going through another gate to reach his castle. Starting his questline early is recommended so defeated enemies count toward progression immediately.

The current endgame boss on Island 4 is Asura's Incarnate , which drops the recipe for Shogun's Chestplate. The boss is slow between attacks, so kiting to the corners of the arena to heal is an effective strategy. It's possible to defeat Asura's Incarnate with late Island 3 equipment if you take the fight slowly.

New Armor Traits System

Armor pieces now carry traits that directly affect your stats, introducing a meaningful choice between two archetypes. Heavy Armor reduces your Move Speed and Stamina Boost but provides stronger defensive stats. Light Armor increases Move Speed, making you faster and more agile at the cost of raw power. This is a new system — previous armor had no trait-based stat trade-offs.

Other Changes and Bug Fixes

The max level jumped from 200 to 250, giving endgame players room to grow again. Rune removal and attachment costs were slashed from 15% of the pickaxe's price to just 5%, making it far cheaper to experiment with rune setups. The Forging system and the Shogun Quest both received bug fixes that were causing issues prior to this patch.

Upcoming Island 4 Content (Approximately March 9)

The Crimson Sakura Expansion launched as Part 1, with a follow-up update expected roughly two weeks after release — around March 9, 2026. Confirmed features for that update include the Spirit Cave, a Goblin King Boss, Side Quests, Ore Crafting, Equipment Traits, new Traits, and new Runes. Further out, the developers have announced plans for Blueprints (which will allow crafting specific items without RNG), Dungeon Raids, PvP, Guilds, and Guild Wars, though no timeline has been confirmed for those features.

The Forge doesn't follow a fixed update schedule. Patches have generally landed once or twice a month, with a mix of smaller hotfixes and larger island expansions. If you're pushing through Island 3 right now, the economy rework in this patch should cut your grind time considerably — and Island 4 has plenty waiting on the other side.
