If you were asked to describe the soundtrack of Newport’s Bayfront, you might say barking sea lions or busy forklifts. But every day at 8 a.m. and again at sunset, a much more notable sound makes it way around the waterfront. U.S. Coast Guard Station Yaquina Bay raises and lowers the American flag, the U.S. Coast Guard flag, and the POW/MIA flag to the sounds of a pre-recorded bugle.
