A 70-foot-long blue whale washed ashore on the southern Oregon Coast in 2015 and giving scientists the idea to save its bones for public display. After painstaking and original work, its skeleton is being placed this week atop steel armatures in the east courtyard of the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport.
