Central Coast firefighting academy finishes four months of training with five graduates now ready to help

Five recruits -- ranging in age from 17 to 40 -- graduated from the Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue firefighter academy on Thursday after completing the rigorous four-month coursework and training. Most plan to continue as volunteers or to pursue professional careers.
