May 15, 2026 - Thousands of demonstrators marched in the heart of New York City to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Nakba, raising Palestinian flags and banners demanding an end to the Israeli and US genocide of the Palestinian people. [video]

Who started the fighting in May 1948 the same day Israel declared independence? Who started the fighting that led to the mass displacement of Palestinian Arabs?

By March 10th, 1945, the Zionists had already adopted Plan D, ordering the Hagana to evict or destroy any Palestinian village that resisted occupation. The zionists ended up also evicting and destroying most villages that didn’t resist at all, such as Deir Yassin, where Irgun and Stern massacred 93 unarmed civilians, among them 30 children. The massacres at Khirbat Nasr al-Din, Ayn al-Zayhan, Tirat Haifa also took place before May 15th. The zionists had also already started conquering Palestinian land not even assigned to the zionists in the UN Resolution, such as Khirbat al-Kasayir and Hawsha.

By 15 May 1945 the Hagana, Irgun and Stern Gang had already destroyed and/or ethnically cleanses 200 villages, displacing over 300.000 Palestinians. Almost half of the Nakba had already happened. If you’re going to do Hasbara, learn your own fucking history.
