The Venice Biennale can not catch a break this year, even before the public viewings. The Golden Lion jury resigned late last month, and the Biennale announced a public-vote-based “Visitor Lion” award instead. Various artists, curators, and staff, including participants from national pavilions, have withdrawn from consideration for the prize.
