I was listening to John Oliver on Trevor and Eugene’s podcast, and it made me think about the people who complain that the host won’t let their guest talk. Not because that was happening, but quite the opposite. I like podcasts where the host talks a lot more, or at least openly puts forward many of their views. Most people don’t do that! The Rest Is Science is another recent great example for me, even though they don’t have guests. These two podcasts can switch between topics by interrupting each other, and they return to a previous topic without any issues. That is so natural! That is so less extractive, unlike the “productivity” based podcasts about management and technology.
