Honor's Australian phone family just got a very slim, very loud upgrade

Back at Mobile World Congress, Honor unveiled its impressively slim Magic V6 foldable to the world, and today the company has announced its Australian launch.

It's also launching its Magic 600 series of devices alongside the foldable, giving Aussie customers a full suite of Honor smartphones to choose from.

The Magic V6 is the star of the trio, and for good reason. At 8.75mm folded and just 4mm unfolded, it's thinner than most regular smartphones, let alone a book style foldable, yet Honor hasn't skimped on durability to get there.

The hinge is rated to a tensile strength of 2800 MPa, the inner display uses flexible glass designed to resist creasing, and the phone carries an IP68 and IP69 rating, meaning it can survive a dunk in water and a blast from a high pressure hose, a rare claim for any foldable.

Honor has also fitted a 6,660mAh battery, the largest yet seen in a folding phone, using a silicon carbon cell that packs more energy into the same space without adding bulk.

Paired with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and 80W wired charging, it's built to outlast a full day even with the 7.95 inch inner screen running hard.

James Li, CEO of Honor, said the company built the Magic V6 around what foldable owners actually want.

"Foldable users should never have to compromise between design, reliability, and performance," he said. "With the Honor Magic V6, we focused on what truly matters: a natural form factor, trustworthy durability, and seamless cross ecosystem productivity."

That cross ecosystem focus matters if there's an iPhone in the house. The Magic V6 connects directly with iPhone, Mac, AirPods and Apple Watch through Honor Share, and supports Quick Share for app free transfers between Android and Apple devices.

Sitting below the V6 are the Magic 600 and Magic 600 Pro, Honor's attempt to bring flagship camera tricks down to a more sensible price, following on from the Magic 8 Pro and X9d launch earlier this year.

Both share a 200MP main camera built around a 1/1.4 inch sensor, the largest in its class, and both lean on AI powered stabilisation and colour correction for night shots.

The Pro adds a 50MP periscope telephoto camera capable of 120x zoom, plus a faster Snapdragon 8 Elite chip against the standard 600's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.

Both phones also pack a 7,000mAh battery, the biggest Honor has fitted into its Number Series, without adding thickness or weight over the previous generation.

Honor claims close to two day battery life, with calls, video and photography still working at minus 20 degrees Celsius on just 20 percent charge, handy if you're taking one skiing.

Both 600 series phones also get Honor's AI Image to Video 2.0 tool, which turns up to three still photos into a short video clip using natural language prompts, plus the same Apple friendly file sharing and notification syncing found on the V6.

It's the clearest sign yet that Honor wants a permanent seat at Australia's best phones table, not just a one off appearance.

Pricing and availability

The Honor Magic V6 is priced at $2,999 and launches today, 2 July 2026, in Black, White and Red through JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and The Good Guys, in store and online.

Buyers who purchase between 2 and 15 July will receive a bonus Honor Watch 6 and Earbuds Clip, plus 12 months of Honor's screen protection service valued at $299, while those who buy between 16 July and 12 August will still get the bonus watch and earbuds, minus the free screen cover.

The Honor 600 costs $999 and the Honor 600 Pro is $1,499, both available from today through JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys, in store and online, in Orange, Golden White and Black.

Anyone who buys a 600 before 12 August will get a bonus Honor Watch 2 Pro, while 600 Pro buyers in the same window score a Honor Watch 4 and Earbuds Clip.
