"textContent": "Hair care appliances are a bit of an unknown to me, given the whole lack of hair on my head thing. But Shark's new Glossi seems like it could be a good solution for people wanting to style their hair without damaging it.\n\nThe Shark Glossi 2-in-1 Hot Tool and Air Glosser is a styling brush that combines heat-controlled ceramic plates with powerful airflow to dry and smooth hair in a single pass, cutting out the need for a separate hairdryer and straightener.\n\nIt has two modes to suit different situations. Wet Mode dries hair while adding volume and lift, while Dry Mode smooths and refreshes an existing style between wash days.\n\nThe teardrop-shaped, tapered brush is designed for better root access, which should make getting that volume-at-the-roots look easier than with a standard flat brush.\n\nShark is claiming that its 24-Hour Gloss Lock Technology should keep hair looking shiny and glossy all day.\n\nAccording to a consumer study, 73% of 30 users agreed their style lasted up to 24 hours after styling with the Glossi. It's a small sample size, but ceramic plates are generally gentler on hair than metal, and controlled heat reduces the protein damage that causes frizz.\n\nThere's also a Scalp Shield feature, which adjusts temperatures automatically to protect your scalp from extreme heat, similar to the Dyson Nural.\n\nShark says the Glossi works across all hair types, including curly, coily and colour-treated hair.\n\nThere is one footnote in the announcement worth noting: the \"no heat damage\" claim applies specifically to Wet-to-Dry mode, tested on virgin, untreated hair at a maximum output temperature of 95.5°C on the highest heat setting. If your hair is chemically processed, results may vary.\n\nShark has been steadily building out its beauty tool range over the past couple of years, including its Shark Glam Hot Tool from last month.\n\nFeature| Detail\n---|---\nModel| HT302PKANZ\nModes| Wet Mode, Dry Mode\nTechnology| Heat-controlled ceramic plates + powerful airflow\nBrush shape| Teardrop (tapered)\nMax temp (wet-to-dry)| 95.5°C\nKey features| 24-Hour Gloss Lock, Scalp Shield\nHair types| All types, including curly, coily, colour-treated\nRRP| $199.99\n\n## Pricing and availability\n\nThe Shark Glossi 2-in-1 Hot Tool and Air Glosser is available now for $199.99.
