    "Smart Play Star Wars sets earlier this year"
  ],
  "textContent": "After LEGO launched its Smart Play Star Wars sets earlier this year, I was wondering what franchise would be next to get the interactive brick treatment.\n\nThe answer is Pokémon.\n\nOvernight, LEGO announced 12 new Pokémon LEGO Smart Play sets, bringing lights and sounds to immerse you in the Pokémon world. And because it's Pokémon, it's all about training, nurturing and battling the different sets.\n\nLike the Star Wars sets, the magic comes from the LEGO SMART Brick, a component packed with more than 20 patented technologies that responds to touch, motion and more, all without needing a screen.\n\nFor the new Pokémon sets, you can feed your LEGO Pikachu a brick-built sandwich or tickle your LEGO Charizard, and it'll react. The more you interact with your Pokémon, the stronger the bond you build before heading into battle.\n\n> _Julia Goldin, Chief Marketing and Product Officer at the LEGO Group, said: \"For the first time ever, LEGO Pokémon creatures respond to children's actions: meaning fans can build, train and interact with their LEGO Pokémon creatures through hands-on, imaginative play that encourages creativity, confidence and storytelling.\"_\n\nThe range splits into two types. All-in-One sets include the SMART Brick, charger and SMART Tags everything you need out of the box.\n\nCompatible sets include SMART Tags but require a SMART Brick from an All-in-One set to unlock the interactive features.\n\nThere are two All-in-One sets: the Training House with Pikachu (72164, ages 6+) at $129.99, and the Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle (72167, ages 8+) at $199.99.\n\nThe remaining ten sets are Compatible, ranging from the bite-sized Jigglypuff Concert (72159, 88 pieces) at $24.99 all the way up to the Cubone and Gengar's Spooky Showdown (72166, 782 pieces) at $159.99.\n\nFan-favourite Pokémon covered across the full range include Pikachu, Charizard, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Gengar, Eevee, Mewtwo, Jigglypuff, Mew and more.\n\nTo coincide with the physical launch, select LEGO Stores will become PokéStops and Gyms from August through September 2026.\n\nAustralian fans who visit participating stores can unlock in-game Pokémon GO rewards including a LEGO SMART Tag, digital backgrounds, stickers and branded apparel (while stocks last, of course).\n\nSet | SKU | Age | Pieces | Type | AUD RRP\n---|---|---|---|---|---\nTraining House with Pikachu | 72164 | 6+ | 400 | All-in-One | $129.99\nCharizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle | 72167 | 8+ | 751 | All-in-One | $199.99\nBerry Bash with Bulbasaur and Bidoof | 72155 | 7+ | 240 | Compatible | $34.99\nTrainer's Buggy Adventure with Squirtle | 72156 | 7+ | 320 | Compatible | $54.99\nCharmander and Geodude's Cavern Clash | 72157 | 6+ | 198 | Compatible | $34.99\nSprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly Battle | 72158 | 8+ | 313 | Compatible | $59.99\nJigglypuff Concert | 72159 | 7+ | 88 | Compatible | $24.99\nDrone Search for Mythical Mew | 72161 | 8+ | 429 | Compatible | $99.99\nEevee and Lapras's Treasure Hunt | 72162 | 8+ | 623 | Compatible | $109.99\nMewtwo's Lab Break | 72163 | 10+ | 605 | Compatible | $119.99\nUmbreon vs. Garchomp Championship Battle | 72165 | 10+ | 831 | Compatible | $139.99\nCubone and Gengar's Spooky Showdown | 72166 | 8+ | 782 | Compatible | $159.99\n\n## Pricing and availability\n\nAll 12 LEGO Pokémon SMART Play sets are available to pre-order now at LEGO.com, with all sets shipping from August 1, 2026.\n\nPrices start at $24.99 for the Jigglypuff Concert and go up to $199.99 for the Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle All-in-One set.\n\nAustralia is a confirmed launch market, so the full range will be available at LEGO.com and LEGO Stores from day one, with select sets also available through retail partners.\n\n* * *\n\n### Latest toys & games deals",
