Blend, flip, sip: Ninja's new BlendBOSS is the blender that wants to come with you

As much as I love making smoothies in the Ninja StealthIQ, that thing is a beast. A black, colourless beast that takes up a huge amount of bench space.

If I were after a bit more personality in my smoothie blender but with a smaller footprint, the new BlendBOSS from Ninja could definitely cater to that need.

The BlendBOSS (DB351ANZ) is Ninja's new single-serve tumbler blender, pitched at people who want their kitchen gear to look as good as it performs.

It comes in five colourways: Cyberspace, Blue Raspberry, Watermelon Bubble Gum, Lavender Lemonade and Stone Mint. Which is about as far from a matte-black bench appliance as you can get.

Under the cup, there's a 1100-watt motor and stainless-steel blades capable of crushing ice to snow. That's technically more powerful than the StealthIQ's 800W BLDC motor, though the Stealth is likely quieter.

Three AutoiQ preset programs handle the heavy lifting: Smoothie, Crush and Blend each automatically vary their pulsing and pausing patterns to nail the right consistency without you having to hover over it.

The 760ml handled tumbler doubles as your drinking vessel. Once blending is done, you flip the leakproof cap and head out the door, using either the integrated chug lid or the included detachable straw. The base is cupholder-friendly too, so it goes straight from bench to car without needing to be poured into a separate bottle first.

It's also capable of more than just smoothies. The stainless-steel CrushBlade assembly can handle single-serve portions of dips, soups and purees, which gives the BlendBOSS a bit more range than a typical personal blender. All removable parts are dishwasher safe and BPA-free.
