"textContent": "Dyson has been releasing products that either blow or suck air since its inception, so the announcement of a personal fan is hardly surprising. But while its announcement makes sense, the HushJet Mini Cool fan is still a somewhat surprising product from the company.\n\nThe HushJet Mini Cool is Dyson's first portable handheld fan, and it's a compact unit weighing in at just 212g. That's about the weight of a large bar of chocolate.\n\nYou can hold it, prop it on your desk, or clip it around your neck using the included \"Neck Dock\". It's the kind of product that makes more sense the hotter the day gets.\n\nThe engine behind it is a brushless DC motor spinning at up to 65,000 RPM, pushing air at speeds up to 25m/s through Dyson's HushJet nozzle.\n\nThat nozzle is designed to focus airflow while reducing the high-pitched whirring that makes most personal fans annoying. Noise levels drop to 52dBA on the lowest setting, which is roughly equivalent to quiet conversation.\n\nAt full boost it hits 72.5dBA, which is louder but still more tolerable than a standard desk fan at full tilt.\n\nThere are five speed settings plus a Boost mode for when you really need it. The 5,000mAh battery lasts up to six hours on a charge and tops back up via USB-C in three hours.\n\n> Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer, said: \"The HushJet Mini Cool fan is the culmination of that journey: powerful airflow, engineered for life on the move by bringing elite cooling technology from every home to your hand.\"\n\nThe 38mm diameter of the HushJet's motor housing is a recurring Dyson design element. It's the same measurement appears in the Dyson Supersonic r hair dryer and the PencilVac. It's an engineering feat that Dyson is clearly proud of.\n\nThe fan ships in three colours: Ink/Cobalt (dark blue and cobalt), Carnelian/Sky (matte red and sky blue), and Stone/Blush (a soft pearl white with pink accents).\n\nEvery box includes a Neck Dock, Charging Stand, USB-C cable, and Travel Pouch. Optional accessories include a Universal Mount for attaching to a pram and a Grip Clip for bag straps or jackets.\n\nCategory| Specification\n---|---\nAirflow speed| Up to 25m/s\nMotor| Brushless DC, up to 65,000 RPM\nNoise| 52dBA (speed 1) / 68dBA (speed 5) / 72.5dBA (boost)\nFan modes| 5 speeds + Boost\nUsage modes| Handheld, desk, wearable\nBattery| 5,000mAh, up to 6 hours runtime\nCharging| USB-C, fully charged in 3 hours\nWeight| 212g\n\n## Pricing and availability\n\nAustralian pricing is set at $169 RRP, though a local release date has not yet been confirmed just yet. That price seems remarkably affordable for a Dyson product, which is a pleasant surprise given today's cost of living challenges.\n\nThe HushJet Mini Cool is expected to be sold through Dyson's website and authorised Australian retailers.\n\n### Latest fan deals",
