  "textContent": "I love this time of year, when all the TV manufacturing companies go hard launching dozens of new TV models and sizes to cater to every possible market.\n\nWe've already seen announcements from LG and Samsung, and this week Hisense has unveiled the Australian details for its 2026 lineup, with a focus on RGB MiniLED.\n\nThe technology uses individually controlled red, green, and blue MiniLEDs to produce more accurate colour and contrast than conventional backlighting.\n\nUntil now, Hisense had kept it mostly in its flagship UX range. This year, it's pushing RGB MiniLED further down the price ladder with two new series, the UR9 and UR8, while also evolving the top of the range with something called RGB MiniLED evo.\n\n## UR9\n\nThe UR9 is the higher-tier of the two new RGB MiniLED models. It uses the same dual-chip RGB MiniLED architecture found in Hisense's flagship UX, targeting 100% of the BT.2020 colour spectrum with Pantone Colour and SkinTone validation.\n\nRefresh rates hit 180Hz, and the panel includes anti-reflection and glare-free technology, which is an important decision factor given that most Australian living rooms get plenty of sunlight.\n\nAudio is handled by a 4.1.2 surround sound system tuned by Devialet, and the UR9 supports Dolby Vision IQ, IMAX Enhanced, and Filmmaker Mode for watching content as it was intended.\n\nThe UR9 arrives in April 2026 in three sizes: 65-inch at $3,999, 75-inch at $5,499, and 85-inch at $6,999.\n\n## UR8\n\nThe UR8 brings the same RGB MiniLED underpinnings to more price points, trading the UR9's 4.1.2 Devialet audio for a 2.1.2 system but otherwise sharing the core display tech: 180Hz refresh rate, anti-reflection treatment, and the same picture mode support.\n\nIt's the entry point into the UR range and spans the widest size selection of the two.\n\nThe UR8 rolls out across two waves. The 55-inch ($2,299), 65-inch ($2,999), 75-inch ($3,999), and 85-inch ($4,999) models arrive in May 2026.\n\nThe 100-inch version follows in July 2026, priced at $9,999.\n\n## UXS: the next step up\n\nHisense also confirmed that the UXS, which was first shown at CES 2026, is coming to Australia later this year in 100-inch and 116-inch sizes, though pricing hasn't been announced yet.\n\nThe UXS introduces what Hisense calls RGB MiniLED evo, which adds a Sky Blue-Cyan LED to the standard red, green, and blue setup.\n\nThe addition targets the part of the visible spectrum where human vision is most sensitive to subtle variation, so gradients and tonal transitions should look more natural than what current RGB MiniLED panels can manage.\n\n## ULED range\n\nAlongside the new UR series, Hisense is also refreshing its wider ULED lineup with the U85, U7, and U6. These models use conventional MiniLED rather than RGB MiniLED, but Hisense is adding Devialet-tuned audio across the range this year for the first time.\n\nThe U85 covers the larger end with a 75-inch ($3,499) and 85-inch ($4,499), both arriving in May 2026.\n\nThe U7 is the most versatile of the three, spanning five sizes from 55-inch at $1,599 up to 100-inch at $6,999, with the range rolling out from April 2026.\n\nThe entry-level U6 starts at $1,299 for the 55-inch and goes up to $5,999 for the 100-inch, with availability spread across May and July 2026 depending on size.\n\nHisense's flagship UX 116-inch RGB MiniLED Smart TV is already on sale in Australia at $39,999.
