Rockstar Games has confirmed it was the victim of a third-party data breach. However, according to the company, there is no major issue.

On April 11, a hacker group calling themselves ShinyHunters claimed to have hacked Rockstar Games and demanded a ransom by Tuesday, April 14. The leaked data reportedly included financial information, player spending habits, and contracts with outsourcing companies. Rockstar has now confirmed the leak but states that it has no significant impact on either the company or its players.

Rockstar Games' Statement on Data Breach

In a statement to Kotaku, a spokesperson confirmed that a limited amount of 'unimportant' company information had been accessed.

The statement read: 'In connection with a third-party data breach, we can confirm that a limited amount of non-critical company information was accessed. This incident has no impact on our organization or our players.'

The company, which was previously in the spotlight with GTA 6 source code leak allegations, emphasizes that this new incident will not affect its operations. We will continue to follow developments.
