The article reveals that, excluding maintenance costs and future content, the game's budget is likely over $250 million.

Marathon and Its Relationship with Steam

The article also states that a large portion of the game's player base is on Steam, with 70% of players on the PC platform. According to reports, the average playtime on Steam is 28 hours, while 22% of players have spent more than 50 hours in the game. Approximately 7% of players have surpassed the 100-hour mark.

Currently, the game's concurrent player count is around 20,306; this figure is significantly lower than the all-time high of 88,337. This peak also falls behind the 143,621 figure during the free server slam event. Additionally, at the time of writing, the game ranks 77th on the list of daily active Steam players.

Looking at other platforms, the game is currently the 106th most-played game on Xbox.

Bungie Committed to Supporting Marathon for Years

While concerns grow that Marathon might be another short-lived live-service game, Bungie has announced that they plan to support the game for many years.
