The handheld console market has begun to deeply feel the effects of component shortages. Lenovo has increased the prices of the Legion Go 2 handheld console by up to 50% without an official announcement.

Prices Increased by Almost 50%

Launched in October 2025, the Legion Go 2 originally had a price tag of $1,099.99 for the entry-level model with AMD Ryzen Z2 and 16 GB of RAM. The more powerful version with Ryzen Z2 Extreme and 32 GB of RAM was offered for sale at $1,349.99.

However, after just five months, the wallets of those who want to buy this device will become significantly lighter. The AMD Ryzen Z2 16 GB model has now risen to $1,499.99, which means a 36% increase compared to the launch price. However, the biggest hit was taken by the Ryzen Z2 Extreme 32 GB model. The price of this version increased by 48% and jumped to $1,999.99.

Stock Issues Persist

It is worth noting that both devices are currently listed as 'not available' in stock. No update has been shared yet regarding when new stock will arrive regarding this situation, which has been ongoing for some time. As you may recall, the news that SteamOS will be used in the Legion Go S model , which Lenovo previously announced, had attracted great interest among handheld console enthusiasts.

Lenovo has not yet responded to requests for comment on the matter. If an official statement comes from the company, we will share the details with you.

What is the Situation with Alternative Handheld Consoles?

If you are still looking for a handheld console, the ASUS ROG Ally X still maintains its $999.99 price and is currently available for purchase. On the Steam Deck side, the most expensive version, the 1 TB OLED model, continues to be sold for $649.99. However, we should add that Steam Deck models are also currently out of stock on Valve's official website.

On the other hand, the Steam Deck 2 statements coming from the Valve front show that it is too early for a new device and that the current model will carry the flag for a while longer. The high rise in hardware prices and component shortages may push other manufacturers to make similar decisions in the coming period.
