Insomniac Explains Why They Are Waiting to Open Pre-orders for Wolverine
Insomniac Games has explained why pre-orders for Marvel’s Wolverine have not yet opened. It appears the team intends to show us more gameplay before we commit our money.
Marvel’s Wolverine is highly anticipated, and it was previously confirmed that the game is scheduled for release this September. Normally, when a release date is announced, we would expect pre-orders to open immediately; however, Insomniac seems to be holding back until at least the Spring of 2026.
Insomniac Will Share More Wolverine Gameplay This Spring
Insomniac reiterated in a candid response to a fan on X (Twitter) that they will share more Wolverine content this spring. When asked if there would be new information, the studio gave a clear response: “In Spring 2026, yes.”
Under the same thread, when another fan requested pre-orders, the studio provided a very intriguing response:
We want to show you more of the game first.
While the spring period technically continues until mid-June, specifically the summer solstice on June 21, it is unlikely that Insomniac will hold back new gameplay footage for that long. PlayStation usually hosts State of Play events in April or May (sometimes both); therefore, fans can expect to see more details about Marvel’s Wolverine during that period.
We do not yet know if this reveal will be an in-depth look specifically for Wolverine or a general trailer. However, we anticipate that pre-orders will likely open the next time we see Wolverine; so be prepared.
