Crimson Desert , in the days leading up to its release, has managed to sell nearly 400,000 copies on Steam.

The open-world action-adventure game from Pearl Abyss is set to release on March 19, 2026, and players are incredibly excited for this title. There was only one missing piece before the release, which was the core PS5 console gameplay footage shared by the developers yesterday. Now, the game's staggering sales details have come to light.

Crimson Desert Exceeds $20 Million on Steam

The most up-to-date Steam sales figures for Crimson Desert were revealed in a report prepared by Alinea Analytics. According to the report, as of March 16, 2026, at 21:00 UTC, the game had sold nearly 400,000 (exactly 363,000) copies on Steam, generating over $20 million in gross revenue. 10% of these sales occurred on March 16 alone, increasing revenue by $2.6 million. Furthermore, the game has nearly 2.2 million wishlists on Steam.

Following the developers' announcement that the game would include Denuvo protection, there were some debates about pre-orders on Steam being canceled. However, the Pearl Abyss team quickly addressed the situation, reassuring players by stating that all gameplay, benchmark, and performance videos viewed to date contained the same version of Denuvo. We will have to wait for Pearl Abyss to announce the official sales figures to see how the game performs across all platforms.

On the other hand, we recently learned that Crimson Desert will support the PS5 Pro's upscaled PSSR technology. Additionally, the launch trailer, which focuses on the game's epic boss battles, managed to mesmerize viewers.
