CD Projekt Red has announced that a free PS5 Pro Enhanced update for the acclaimed action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will be released very soon.

Since the launch of the PS5 Pro in November 2024, many titles have received dedicated updates to leverage the power of this mid-generation refresh. While some games like Cyberpunk 2077 initially relied solely on the console's hardware power to boost performance, the game is now receiving a dedicated patch that will fully utilize the new technologies.

Cyberpunk 2077 and Upgraded PSSR Support

In a statement on the official Cyberpunk 2077 X account, it was noted that the PS5 Pro update is expected in the 'not too distant future,' with more details to be shared in the coming weeks. The development team clearly stated that this update will not add new content to the game; it will focus entirely on utilizing the advanced hardware capabilities of the PS5 Pro.

Sony recently shared a list of games that will receive upgraded PSSR support. While most of the titles on this list are scheduled to receive the update on March 17, 2026 (UTC), games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Cyberpunk 2077 are expected to begin benefiting from this technology in the coming weeks. It appears the PS5 Pro Enhanced update will arrive as soon as the developers are ready to integrate the upgraded PSSR technology.

On another note, CD Projekt Red reiterated that there are no new DLC plans for Cyberpunk 2077. However, this is not the only news for Night City fans; Epic Games has dropped the first hints of a Cyberpunk 2077 x Fortnite collaboration on social media. So, what are your thoughts on Cyberpunk 2077 finally getting a PS5 Pro update? Is it a good excuse to return to Night City one more time? Let us know in the comments!
