Resident Evil Requiem Reaches 6 Million Sales
Capcom has shared updated sales figures for the latest entry in the series, Resident Evil Requiem. According to the announcement, the game has already exceeded 6 million copies sold, cementing its title as the fastest-selling game in the series.
In the new press release published on March 16, Capcom announced that the game has surpassed the 6 million mark. As you may recall, the production had already achieved a major success by selling 5 million copies in its first 5 days.
The Resident Evil Series Turns 30
As part of the press release, Capcom also announced that the Resident Evil series will soon reach its 30th anniversary. The company stated the following regarding this special celebration:
'In addition, the Resident Evil series will celebrate its 30th anniversary on March 22, 2026. To delight fans, Capcom is preparing various plans for 2026, such as a collaboration between Universal Studios Japan and Resident Evil Requiem, as well as orchestral concerts in Japan, the USA, and Europe.'
New Content on the Way
The publisher and development team confirmed that post-launch content (DLC) for the game is also on the way. Aiming to keep players engaged in this horror-filled adventure for longer, the team seems determined to expand the Resident Evil Requiem world with ongoing support and additional game content.
As of the time of writing, the production is vying for the top spot on Metacritic user scores with a massive 9.4 rating. The game currently sits as the second highest-rated game on the platform, just behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with a 9.5 rating.
