It has been revealed in a new development that the Creative Director of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has been tasked with working on a live-action film adaptation.

The latest details heard about the Kingdom Come: Deliverance series were that KCD 2 would arrive on Xbox Game Pass in February 2026 and that the previous game would receive an Enhanced Update for current-gen consoles. Now, we have learned of a live-action film to be overseen by the game's creative director.

KCD2 Director Daniel Vávra Moving to Live-Action Movie, Won't Work on New Warhorse Game

The latest update regarding this change in focus for the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 creative director comes from a new interview with the studio head via Czech Crunch. Warhorse Studios head Martin Frývaldský stated that creative director Daniel Vávra has a 'new role' in the 'creation of the Kingdom Come movie.' Frývaldský added that the series has already expanded into other mediums like comic books, concerts, and tourism; however, a movie attracted them the most and a 'draft script' already exists.

Frývaldský added that Warhorse 'can already feel the interest from the film world' for the Kingdom Come: Deliverance movie and 'negotiations are already underway.' The studio head added that they do not want to sell the rights and want the film to be as the studio envisions.

Martin Frývaldský stated that the decision for the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 creative director to move to film was his own. Vávra had already made three games that achieved global success and 'wanted to try something different for a long time.' Bringing Kingdom Come to the screen 'within the next few years' is a milestone the studio wants to reach, and this is Daniel Vávra's new responsibility.

The Warhorse Studios head also explained that Daniel Vávra will not be part of the daily work in the office but will continue to be part of the studio 'in a broader sense.' Frývaldský detailed that Vávra's new position could be called 'transmedia director.' Vávra is no longer involved in a new game from Warhorse Studios.
