PlayStation 5 Passes 90 Million Sales

According to Sony's latest financial reports, the company sold approximately 8 million PlayStation 5 consoles in the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, reaching a total sales figure of over 84.1 million as of September 30.

The newly published data shows that over 90 million PS5 consoles have been sold. Despite these figures, PS5 sales decreased by 1.5 million compared to the third quarter of fiscal year 2024.

Sony also shared information regarding sold PlayStation games and PSN.

The shared figures also reveal that combined sales of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games reached 97.2 million units. According to Sony, this total figure includes all PS4 and PS5 games, including those sold with PlayStation consoles and PlayStation VR.

Furthermore, as of the end of the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, PlayStation Network (PSN) has 132 million active users. This figure is slightly higher than the 129 million recorded in the same quarter of the previous year.

Although Sony showed strong performance in 2025, Nintendo Switch 2 continues to lead in console sales.
