Dead Man's Bones and Alice
Hello again,
I needed something delightful today so I pulled up this classic.
If you're not familiar with Ryan Gosling's sweet ass band Dead Man's Bones, then I hope you're ready to feel absolutely tickled. I recommend the whole album. It's really good.
I need more delightful things in my life. Things have been fairly dour lately, and I need to find ways to keep myself upright. Stuff like this helps me. Just joyful things.
I think that might be one of the reasons I responded so strongly to Masters of the Universe last week. It was joyful. It embraced sincerity and positivity and didn't feel angry or entitled. It was just joyful.

I've been thinking a lot about my Alice in Wonderland story that I started working on when I was, oh, fifteen or so. Maybe even younger. I was living in Palmdale when I drew my first illustrations for it, so I was probably more like 13 or 14. Jesus.
Anyway, it's evolved a lot since then, and been refined into a story I think I can tell, that's different enough from anything I've seen before in the whole Alice in Wonderland reimagining space.
So that's what I'm working on. It's going to be more of a horror story than anything, so keep that in mind. It's also going to be frigging great. I'm really excited about some of the ideas I've been working on for it.
Anyway, I just felt like I wanted to share that. I hope everyone's week is starting out relatively okay.
