"textContent": "As overlay work on 6700 Road wraps up, the City of Montrose is preparing to begin the next round of street maintenance projects on Monday, June 15.\n\nThe upcoming work will affect 6450 Road, Hillcrest Plaza, several streets in the Bear Creek subdivision, Valley Way, and South Cascade Avenue. Motorists should expect temporary closures, detours, and construction activity in multiple neighborhoods throughout the week.\n\n## 6450 Road\n\nBeginning Monday, June 15, 6450 Road from San Juan Avenue to Cascade Avenue will be closed to traffic for pavement maintenance.\n\nWork will include mill ties at intersecting streets and an asphalt overlay. Final paving is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June 16.\n\n## Hillcrest Plaza\n\nHillcrest Plaza will also close to traffic beginning Monday, June 15, for pavement maintenance work.\n\nCrews will complete a taper mill, mill ties at intersecting streets, and an asphalt overlay. Final paving is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 17.\n\n## Bear Creek Subdivision\n\nSeveral roads in the Bear Creek subdivision will close to traffic beginning Monday, June 15, for pavement maintenance.\n\nAffected areas include:\n\n * Cement Creek\n * The 1300 block of Diamond Hill\n * The 1400 and 1500 blocks of Excelsior Creek\n\n\n\nWork will include a taper mill, mill ties at intersecting streets, and an asphalt overlay.\n\nFinal paving is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, June 18, on Cement Creek and Diamond Hill, and Friday, June 19, for Excelsior Creek.\n\n## Valley Way and South Cascade Avenue\n\nBeginning Monday, June 15, Valley Way and the 1300 block of South Cascade Avenue will be closed to through traffic for waterline and pavement maintenance work.\n\nAccess to local businesses, including Valley Manor, will be maintained.\n\nThe project will include waterline replacement, concrete repairs, and an asphalt overlay. Work is expected to be complete by the end of July.\n\n## Trash and Recycling Schedules Remain the Same\n\nThe city says trash and recycling schedules will not change during the work.\n\nResidents are asked to place trash and recycling containers outside by 6 a.m. so collection drivers can adjust routes and complete pickups before asphalt work begins for the day.\n\n## Plan Ahead\n\nThe City of Montrose is asking drivers and pedestrians to respect all work zones and detours while crews complete the next phase of the 2026 street maintenance program.\n\nQuestions about the project may be directed to Civil Engineer Ryan Cushenan at 970-240-1485 or rcushenan@ci.montrose.co.us.",
