  "textContent": "Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians should plan for continued construction impacts across Grand Junction during the week of June 15 as city and state projects continue on several major corridors.\n\nTraffic restrictions are expected on Patterson Road, D ½ Road, Riverside Parkway, Highway 340, 25 Road, Ute Avenue, Pitkin Avenue, and other construction zones. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted signs and traffic control directions.\n\n## City Projects Affecting Traffic\n\n### Crosby Avenue Improvements\n\nCrosby Avenue will remain closed between West Main Street and American Way while improvement work continues.\n\nBusiness and local traffic access will be maintained during the closure.\n\n### Four Canyons Parkway Project\n\nThe Four Canyons Parkway project will continue to affect traffic near 25 Road and Patterson Road.\n\nRestrictions include:\n\n  * 25 Road closed between Blichmann Avenue and Waite Avenue\n  * 24 ¾ Road closed to northbound traffic beginning at Apex Avenue\n  * Detours and lane shifts at the intersection of 25 Road and Patterson Road\n\n\n\nDrivers should expect delays and consider alternate routes through the area.\n\n### D ½ Road Capacity Improvements\n\nD ½ Road will remain closed between 29 Road and 30 Road as capacity improvements continue.\n\nLocal traffic access will be maintained, but access to and from San Juan Street will be closed at the intersection of San Juan Street and D ½ Road.\n\nDetours are in place. Access to San Juan Street is available via 29 ½ Road from D Road.\n\n### Patterson Road and 28 ½ Road\n\nConstruction near Patterson Road and 28 ½ Road, near the Matchett Parkway entrance to the recreation center, will continue to affect pedestrians and drivers.\n\nThe sidewalk on the north side of Patterson Road will be closed between 28 ¼ Road and 28 ¾ Road. The sidewalk on the south side will be closed between 28 ¼ Road and Legends Way.\n\nPedestrian detours will remain in place for the rest of the project. Lane shifts are also in place, and alternate routes are advised.\n\nPedestrians and drivers should follow posted detour signs, traffic control devices, and directions from traffic control personnel.\n\n### Patterson Road Sidewalk Project\n\nLane closures and lane shifts will affect eastbound traffic on Patterson Road between 24 ½ Road and 25 ½ Road throughout the week.\n\nShoulder closures and lane shifts will also be in place at the intersection of Patterson Road and 25 Road.\n\n### Aspen Street Waterline Replacement\n\nAspen Street will remain closed between Unaweep Avenue and Highway 50 for waterline replacement work.\n\nDetours are in place. Community members with questions or concerns may contact the project team at 970-244-1558.\n\n### Riverside Parkway Repair\n\nRepair work continues on Riverside Parkway between Dos Rios Drive and the 5th Street bridge.\n\nOne lane in each direction will be maintained, but lane restrictions will be in place. Some pedestrian and bicycle detours will also be implemented during the work.\n\n## Non-City Projects Affecting Traffic\n\n### CDOT Ute and Pitkin Improvements\n\nCDOT’s I-70 Business Loop improvement project east of 3rd Street will continue to affect downtown traffic.\n\nRestrictions include:\n\n  * 5th Street reduced to one lane between South Avenue and Colorado Avenue\n  * Single-lane closures and shoulder closures on Ute Avenue and Pitkin Avenue between 3rd Street and 6th Street\n  * 4th Street reduced to a single lane between Colorado Avenue and Pitkin Avenue\n\n\n\nBusiness and residential access will remain open. Parking and alley access will also remain available.\n\nFor questions or concerns, call 970-880-0688 or email I70bthirdstreet@gmail.com.\n\n### CDOT Highway 340 Overlay\n\nLane closures will continue for eastbound and westbound traffic across the Highway 340 bridge between Redlands Parkway and Grand Avenue.\n\nCrews are scheduled to work overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday.\n\nDrivers should use caution in the work zone and expect delays.\n\n### 23 Road and Broadway Roundabout\n\nWork continues on the 23 Road and Broadway roundabout project.\n\nAlcove Drive will remain closed at 23 Road, with detours available via Vista Grande Road or Columbine Drive to access 23 Road.\n\nAlcove Drive will remain closed for the duration of the project.\n\nCO 340 will remain open to two-way traffic with a reduced 35 mph speed limit through the work zone. Sidewalk access will be maintained, but pedestrians are asked to stay clear of active construction areas.\n\n## Plan Ahead\n\nWith several projects underway at the same time, Grand Junction drivers should expect delays during the week of June 15, especially along Patterson Road, Highway 340, D ½ Road, Riverside Parkway, and downtown streets affected by the Ute and Pitkin improvements.\n\nResidents are encouraged to slow down in work zones, watch for pedestrians and bicyclists, and follow all posted detours.",
