  "textContent": "Grand Junction residents can now purchase memberships for the city’s new Community Recreation Center, months ahead of the facility’s anticipated grand opening in late 2026.\n\nMembership sales begin today, at the Community Recreation Center Membership Sales Trailer near the construction site at 2836 Recreation Way.\n\nThe new facility is expected to offer expanded recreation options for residents of all ages, including fitness amenities, youth and adult programming, community gathering spaces, and facility rental opportunities.\n\n## Where to Buy Memberships\n\nMemberships can be purchased in person at the sales trailer located near the Community Recreation Center construction site. The city says directional signs will be posted along the construction fencing to help visitors find the trailer, which is on the southeast side of the Community Recreation Center parking lot.\n\nThe trailer will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.\n\nThe first 500 people to purchase memberships will receive a special gift.\n\n## Facility Rentals Also Open June 8\n\nResidents and community groups interested in hosting events, meetings, or activities at the new recreation center will also be able to begin making facility rental reservations on June 8.\n\nThe city is encouraging residents to review available rental options online as the opening date approaches.\n\n## A New Community Gathering Space\n\nThe Community Recreation Center has been one of Grand Junction’s most closely watched public projects, with residents anticipating new indoor recreation, fitness, and programming space for families, youth, adults, and seniors.\n\nAlthough the facility is not expected to open until late 2026, the start of membership sales gives residents an early opportunity to plan for access once the center opens.\n\nMembership pricing and additional details are available at gjpr.org/crc.\n\nCommunity members with questions can visit the Membership Sales Trailer beginning June 8 or contact the Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Office at 970-254-3866.\n\n## Construction Progress",
