"textContent": "Grand Junction residents will once again have the opportunity to clear out yard waste and unwanted household items during the City’s annual Spring Clean-Up Program, running March 30 through April 10, 2026.\n\nThe long-standing program, which dates back to the early 1900s, provides free curbside pickup for residential properties within city limits. It’s one of the City’s most widely used seasonal services, helping residents dispose of bulky or unusable items that don’t fit in regular trash service.\n\n## Pickup Schedule and Areas\n\nThe program will roll out in two phases depending on location:\n\n * North of North Avenue: Pickup begins Monday, March 30 at 6:30 a.m.\n * South of North Avenue (including Orchard Mesa and the Redlands): Pickup begins Monday, April 6 at 6:30 a.m.\n\n\n\nResidents are encouraged to have their materials placed at the curb before the start time on the first day of pickup in their area.\n\n## How to Prepare Your Pile\n\nTo ensure collection, the City is asking residents to follow a few key guidelines:\n\n * Place all items in one pile along the gutter in front of your residence\n * Keep piles off sidewalks, lawns, driveways, and private property\n * Position items at least three feet away from buildings, fences, vehicles, and mailboxes\n * Separate piles from items not intended for pickup, such as trash or recycling bins\n\n\n\nThere is also a size limit. Piles larger than approximately 10 cubic yards (about the size of a large dump truck) may be subject to a $150 fee.\n\n## What Residents Should Know\n\nCity officials encourage residents to consider donating or recycling usable items when possible, helping reduce waste and support local organizations.\n\nA full list of accepted and prohibited items, as well as a map of pickup zones, is available on the City’s website.\n\nFor more information, residents can visit the City of Grand Junction website or call 970-256-4111.",
