Atlas Ocean Voyages has announced a 2028 Arctic season of 13 expedition voyages, ranging from seven to 17 nights across Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland and Eastern Canada. The program, announced May 8, will sail aboard World Navigator and World Voyager.

Arctic routes span Svalbard, Greenland and Canada

“Our 2028 Arctic season reflects a deliberate expansion of our Arctic expedition portfolio,” said James A. Rodriguez, president and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages. Rodriguez said the focus on Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland and Eastern Canada was intended to give guests “more choice, more depth and more ways to explore the polar regions.”

The itineraries are designed around expedition programming that includes Zodiac safaris and guided landings led by Atlas expedition teams. Wildlife-viewing opportunities named for the season include beluga whales, polar bears, Arctic foxes, seabirds and walrus colonies.

In Svalbard, guests arriving in Longyearbyen can add the “Life in the Arctic” Atlas Immersive experience, which includes a visit to the Global Seed Vault. Select Greenland calls include Ittoqqortoormiit, where Atlas said guests will be able to engage with one of the region’s isolated Inuit communities.

The program also includes new and returning Arctic expeditions featuring Disko Bay, Nunavut and Labrador. Listed examples include the seven-night Arctic Frontier Passage from Tromso to Longyearbyen on June 10, the 10-night Arctic Isles & Volcanic Shores from Longyearbyen to Reykjavik on June 17, the 16-night Polar Wilderness Quest from Nuuk to Churchill on July 29, and the 17-night Fjords & Frontiers from Nuuk to St. Johns on Sept. 12.

World Navigator and World Voyager are part of Atlas’ Explorer-class fleet, with Polar Category C and Ice Class 1B designations.
