"textContent": "Costa Cruises has unveiled its 2028 World Cruise, a 139-day Costa Deliziosa voyage from Savona that is scheduled to call at 51 destinations in 29 countries, including 21 islands. The ship departs Nov. 25, 2027, crosses five continents and three oceans, and returns to Savona on April 11, 2028.\n\nBeyond the full Savona-to-Savona sailing, Costa is selling a 100-day version from San Francisco that includes Oceania, Asia and Africa before ending in Savona. The program also adds Celebration Key, the Bahamas destination, to Costa’s world-cruise offering for the first time.\n\nLuigi Stefanelli, vice president worldwide sales of Costa Cruises, said the cruise is aimed at guests “who want to explore the world without haste.” The itinerary, he said, brings together “emotion, depth and quality” for travelers seeking longer-form destination travel.\n\n## Where the voyage calls\n\nAfter leaving the Mediterranean, the North America segment includes extended stays in New York and Los Angeles and a New Year’s Eve celebration on the California coast. Celebration Key, Carnival’s new Bahamas port designed for about 2 million annual guests at opening and 4 million by 2028, is listed as opening to Costa guests during the world cruise.\n\nThe Pacific portion includes Hilo and Honolulu before the ship reaches New Zealand, where calls include Tauranga, Auckland and Bay of Islands. Australia follows with a two-day stay in Melbourne. The Japan segment includes a two-day call in Tokyo.\n\nAfter Japan, the schedule continues through South Korea and Hong Kong, then into Southeast Asia with calls including Langkawi in Malaysia and Phuket in Thailand. The return toward Europe takes in Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Mauritius before southern African calls at Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Walvis Bay, followed by Cape Verde, the Canary Islands, Barcelona and Marseille.\n\n## Overland programs and booking status\n\nCosta identified several multi-day overland options during the voyage, including Los Angeles and Grand Canyon flights around New Year’s Eve, Māori cultural experiences in New Zealand, Kyoto temple visits with traditional Japanese rituals and a five-day Southern Africa program.\n\nThe San Francisco embarkation is designed for guests joining the itinerary after the North America portion. Costa did not list starting fares in the announcement.\n\nBookings are now open for the 2028 sailing. Costa said space also remains on the 2027 World Cruise, which is scheduled to leave Savona on Nov. 25, 2026.",
