Even if you're not coming to the\nrest of the conference, you can still sign up for the workshop.\n\n<Picture\n  file=\"posts/extempore-iclc-workshop-promo.webp\"\n  alt=\"Harrison & Fi making mad beats with Extempore\"\n/>\n\nThis workshop will provide a hands-on introduction to making music in the live\ncoding programming environment [Extempore](https://github.com/digego/extempore).\nThe workshop will cover:\n\n- the fundamentals of making sound (starting from \"hello sine\")\n\n- an overview of Extempore's audio signal chain (especially the built-in and\n  highly configurable modular synth)\n\n- introduction to note-level live coding with the Extempore pattern language\n\nNo Extempore or previous live coding experience necessary (although experienced\npractitioners are welcome as well). Just bring a laptop with macOS, Windows or\nUbuntu installed and we'll start from scratch.
