  "title": "Wikipedia Editathon - Dalit History Month",
  "publishedAt": "2021-02-01T00:00:00.000Z",
  "textContent": "For Dalit History Month, I participated in a Wikipedia editathon focused on improving the representation of Dalit literature and history on the platform. The effort resulted in 24.5K words contributed across 27 edited articles, including the creation of 2 new articles, 167 references added, 2 Commons uploads, and approximately 105K article views.\n\nWikipedia's knowledge gaps are not accidental- they reflect whose histories are considered encyclopaedic, much like the systemic erasure documented in research on Adivasi disenfranchisement in Kerala. Editathons like this are a form of knowledge activism: making visible what dominant editorial cultures have overlooked, and doing so within the infrastructure that shapes how millions encounter history. This work shares a commitment to digitising marginalised South Asian histories that are otherwise absent from dominant archives.\n\nView edit statistics",
