Justice Minister George Floridis has warned that the next hearing of the Tempi rail disaster trial, scheduled for 2 April, will be subject to police-controlled entry to ensure that only 'those provided for by law' are allowed in, raising concerns over the principle of open justice that grants every citizen the right to follow court proceedings. He also reiterated his position that the courtroom is suitable for the trial, while shifting blame onto lawyers and politicians who, he claimed, are systematically attempting to delay or prevent proceedings from getting under way.
