Or you end up trapped with them as they're killed. Opus plays with this trope by using a reclusive musician and the cult of fandom and, after years in isolation, a cult he's developed on the compound he inhabits. Are real musicians like this? Hello, who knows and who cares. It's an interesting narrative device and makes for a compelling, if not all that original film. In less accomplished hands this could've been a real dud, but it boasts a seriously accomplished and talented cast that makes it compelling the whole way through.",
