  "description": "This is such a visually rich and spectacularly odd and gruesome film. Leading with a King Crimson tune was brave but works unexpectedly well. Outside of that track, Jóhann Jóhannsson provides a brilliant instrumental score that complements the narrative perfectly. The role of Red was tailor-made for Nicolas Cage (there are several scenes here I have a hard time seeing anyone else pull off — particularly the long bout of inarticulate grief in the bathroom). The whole film is visceral, violent and beautifully rendered. Recommended.",
