"description": "I'm not — by any measure — a deeply studied fan of infrastructure. I value it, I appreciate it and I know that it's at its best when you don't think about it. It does its job, you rely on it so faithfully that it fades into the background. Until it crumbles. How Infrastructure Works isn't terribly technical. It offers broad coverage of the topic, intertwines it with the author's experiences and uses that connection with the reader to get you invested in the topic. It's a good, quick read and one that I'm happy to have picked up. I very much agree with the author's advocacy for federated, community infrastructure to bolster resiliency and there's an undeniable logic to the argument that solar power is so abundant it only makes sense to invest in and grow it. Alas, here we are with crumbling infrastructure all around us.",
