"description": "Keith Morris seems like exactly the kind of musician it’d be fun to sit down and shoot the shit with. Not grab a beer with (he doesn’t drink and neither do I), but sit down and trade stories with. He clearly has many more interesting ones than I do, but still. My point is more that this book is thoroughly enjoyable not because I’m a huge Black Flag fan (I do like them quite a bit) or a Circle Jerks fan (I’ve never listened to them) but because Morris is a chaotic and likable character. It comes through in the writing and it’s likely what made him such a successful frontman for so many significant bands. Henry Rollins is often seen as the face of Black Flag and the man is, truly, an imposing presence. But Morris was there at the beginning and he was around to see the van everyone took turns in roll off into a ditch. I love memoirs like this. A lot of musical insight, a lot of personal struggle and numerous anecdotes you’ll only get from someone who was there. Excellent.",
