There are bands in every scene that are parallel to the ones you love and that you never get into and — for me — The Strokes and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are firmly in that category. The book reads like a collection of neatly organized interviews, pushing the narrative along as the scene developed. Wanton substance abuse aside, all of the stories were interesting (and I particularly enjoyed the insights into LCD Soundsystem ).",
