"textContent": "As I mentioned earlier, I built a homemade igloo this weekend with my kids.\n\nAs a result of all this snow we’re getting here in North Carolina, we had a remote day today at the college where I teach. With having classes today, I knew I had Zoom on the docket for today. But I hate teaching over Zoom, so I wondered how could I make this a bit more interesting?\n\nAnd there it was in front of me: I could teach on zoom from the Igloo!\n\nWhy not?!\n\nSo I did it. And it was a lot of fun.\n\nThe student who is T.A.ing for me asked if she could join so I invited her along as well.\n\nThe setup was simple.\n\nI brought out a couple of crates to sit on with cardboard for a little cushion, some hot tea for each of us, a candle for a little heat, and my laptop.\n\nYou should have seen the faces of students when they logged on. 🤣 Honestly, that was worth the whole thing. But it was fun to use it as a silly backdrop and talk about it as things came up. The igloo was really cold, which seems obvious, but I expected it would get warmer as time went on. It did not. M. and I had to step out of the igloo to warm up for a moment because toes and fingers got frosty.\n\nI think by Friday the igloo will be gone so this was a once in lifetime - at least up to this point - opportunity and I’m glad we did it!",
