Typically to do this integration games usually use CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework) which allows for a webpage to either be rendered directly into the window as GUI, or rendered offscreen and shown on an in-game object such as a TV or projector screen. A certain other open source voxel thing has a plugin to make this happen which does look pretty fancy in the screenshot.

But this wouldn't be possible in Luanti with just a Lua mod, you would need engine changes and non-trivial amounts of that. You're free to try with AI but you will probably run into roadblocks.
