Mod Releases • Re: [MOD] Ethereal NG [1.34] [ethereal]
@Arceusl - I can easily change the burntime for charcoal, and as for the coal from trees mod, it uses the same recipe to make coal that ethereal uses to make charcoal, so they overlap.
Very strange, now we need a Charcoal Block. Which is easy enough to make: 9 Charcoals.
Plus, More Trees mod's trees are also considered for Charcoal creation, I didn't know that compatibility existed. But 8 seconds to create Charcoal doesn't add up, sure, one Coal can make exactly 10 Charcoal (5 Wooden Logs burned), but Charcoal can't cleanly cook because 8 isn't a factor of 30. Sure, it is possible to reduce the time needed to create Charcoal to 6 seconds, so each Charcoal creates 10, but that would make Coal uneven, since 6 isn't a factor of 40, though 5 seconds would work for both, getting 12 Charcoal per Charcoal usage, and 16 per Coal. But that could be a little overwhelming, especially if Charcoal blocks don't exist...Remember, it's easy to store up lots of Coal as 99 Coal creates 11 Coal Blocks in regular MineTest, which is the same for Minecraft (A coincidence? I think not), so if Charcoal had that, it wouldn't be so overwhelming for players as they can quickly compress and save space in their inventories. Of course, Charcoal Blocks should burn for between 270-300 seconds to stay consistent with Coal Blocks, as those burn for 370 seconds (The equivalent of 9 Coals plus a bonus 10 seconds, though Minecraft made it so Coal Blocks are the same as 10 Coals).
Also, why do torches hurt you? That's inconsistent with Luanti & Minecraft, as you can pass through torches harmlessly. Honestly that feature should be removed to maintain consistency with Minecraft and standard MineTest.
