"textContent": "Is anyone really still fooled by the ‘I’m not an anti-Semite, I’m an anti-Zionist’ gambit, any more? It’s never been anything more than the most obvious, self-serving bullshit. The old ‘I’m not racist, but…’ dressed up in a shitty tea-towel.\n\nEven more than 15 years ago, comedian **Sandy Gutman** (aka ‘Austen Tayshus’) called out the obvious bullshit. When a typically smirking leftist on _QandA_ tried the, ‘criticising Israel isn’t anti-Semitism, heh heh’ gambit, Gutman skewered them royally. If they weren’t just a plain old Jew-hater, he asked, why was Israel the _only_ country in the Middle East they chose to relentlessly criticise? Why the hyper-focus on Israel, while the human rights enormities of Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, let alone ‘Palestine’ were let slide without comment?\n\nSo, yeah, don’t try and bullshit me with this ‘anti-Zionist’ crap: we can all see right through it. Maybe you’ve managed to convince yourself it’s true, because, goodness gracious, only _Nazis_ hate Jews, and if the left know anything, it’s _they’re_ not the Nazis. But, contra George Costanza, just because you believe it (and I rather suspect you don’t, really), doesn’t mean it’s not a lie. A big ol’ stinking anti-Semitic lie.\n\nAs science fiction writer **Orson Scott Card** recently put it, _Anti-Zionism is the thin coat of shellac that Jew-haters use to pretend they’re not antisemitic_.\n\n> Everybody sees through it. The only people who pretend that there’s a difference are the antisemites.\n>\n> AntiZionism is to antisemitism as a square is to a rectangle. Not all rectangles fit the definition of squares, but all squares are rectangles.\n\nAnd all anti-Semites are liars and intellectual shonks.\n\n> Jew-hating bigots who wish for the genocide of Jews accuse Israel of genocide. People who want to ghettoize Jews call Israel an apartheid state. BOTH charges are slanderous lies, antisemites accusing Israel of their own sins and desires. NonJews in Israel are freer and more prosperous than Muslims in any Muslim nation […]\n>\n> If Israel’s neighbors had accepted the UN boundaries instead of attempting to slaughter Jews and wipe Israel off the map, there is no rational indication that Israel would not have remained within those borders. Jewish immigrants to Israel bought all the land they lived, farmed, or manufactured on – none of the land was stolen.\n>\n> Palestine was an impoverished backwater of the Ottoman Empire until Jewish settlers, farming with rifles strapped to their backs, subdued the bandits that had long terrorized the inhabitants of Canaan. Only when Canaan had been pacified and economically stimulated by Jewish immigrants did Palestine become a desirable place to live. Then Arabs immigrated to Palestine precisely because of what Jews had made of the place.\n\nMy first response to the ‘Anti-Zionist’ numbnuts is: _define Zionism_. Almost invariably the result is spluttering indignation and a quick dodge to an unrelated-but-equally bullshit claim. Mostly, it’s because these little brownshirts don’t even _know_. They’re just parroting a weasel-word phrase they think let’s them off the Nazi hook.\n\nIf they _do_ know, they won’t say, because acknowledging what ‘Zionism’ means immediately demolishes their flimsy gambit.\n\nZionism is, quite simply, the idea that Jews are entitled so self-determination in the ancient Jewish homelands. Jews are the indigenes of Israel, that simple fact is absolutely undeniable from the weight of archaeological evidence. Yet, the very same people who witter about ‘indigenous sovereignty’ in Australia or New Zealand, deny the very possibility of Jewish indigenous sovereignty.\n\nTell me again how that’s _not_ anti-Semitic.\n\nTheir next gambit is to simply deny the Jewishness of Jews altogether.\n\n> Antisemites try to prove that not all Jews are descended from ancient Israelites, but it’s a stupid argument.\n\nAlmost no – I would suspect _none at all_ – Māori or Aborigines today don’t have a ‘touch of the talcum’ (to turn around the old phrase) in their family tree. That doesn’t stop these pasty palefaces from claiming ‘indigenous’ status. But Jews are denied the same generosity.\n\nTell me again how that’s _not_ anti-Semitic.\n\n> Before 1948, Zionism was a political project. After 1948, it became inseparable from the existence of the State of Israel.\n\nSo, even on its own ‘merits’ anti-Zionism is the same ideology of Hamas: the complete elimination of the State of Israel. Indeed, many leftists make no secret that this is _exactly_ what they want to achieve.\n\n> Many states have contested histories. Pakistan’s creation involved mass displacement. Kosovo’s independence remains disputed. Numerous borders reflect colonial legacies.\n>\n> Yet there are few sustained global movements dedicated to eliminating those states altogether. Policy disputes persist. Territorial conflicts endure. But there is not a durable, transnational campaign arguing that those nations should cease to exist as sovereign entities.\n>\n> The Jewish state occupies a distinctive position in global political discourse: its legitimacy is debated not merely at its borders but at its foundation […]\n>\n> In institutional settings and activist frameworks, opposition to “Zionism” has repeatedly functioned as a comprehensive ideological stance rather than a discrete policy disagreement. It frames Jewish sovereignty itself as inherently illegitimate – describing Israel’s existence, irrespective of borders or governments, as intrinsically racist.\n\nTell me again how that’s _not_ anti-Semitic.\n\nAs Card bluntly says: _Let no one be fooled by the lies of the Jew-hating anti-Zionists. They are murderous Hitlers and Himmlers in their hearts. They are all abetters of the monstrous crimes of October 7._\n\nNow watch them pollute the comments.\n\n* * *\n\n💡\n\n****If you enjoyed this article please share it using the share buttons at the top or bottom of the article.****",
