Throughout the guide, we converted the prices from Japanese yen to U.S. dollars. At the time of writing, the exchange rate was ¥1,000 JPY are equal to $6.42 USD, according to Visa’s exchange rate calculator.
I’ll let today’s writer, Ruthie Owen, take it from here!

The Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kanazawa, Japan Travel Guide
Who went on the trip: Me and my husband!
How long were you gone: We traveled for two full weeks, including travel days. We are based in the southeast U.S., and I would strongly recommend only going to Japan if you have more than nine days for the trip since you spend so much time traveling.
What was your budget: We didn’t have a rigid budget but didn’t want to spend more than $7,000. Our flights alone cost $2,599, and we averaged $186 per night on lodging across our trip. We could have saved more if we had booked our flights sooner!
