What's so important about voting on June 9th?
June 9th is our primary election date. This voting date is important because it is when we pick parties that will move forward into the general election.
In Primary Elections, you can only vote for one political party in federal, legislative, and statewide (party) races.
If you vote for candidates in more than one political party, you will be alerted when your ballot is inserted in the ballot tabulator that you have a crossover vote. You can then either fix the mistake with a new ballot or cast the ballot as-is. If you choose to still submit without fixing the mistakes, party races on the front of the ballot will be voided.
For more information about casting a ballot, visit the NDSOS Ballot Information webpage.
