  "textContent": "The primary election is coming up on **_June 9, 2026._** North Dakota’s primary is how each political party decides which candidates will appear on the general election ballot later in November.\n\nWhen you vote in the primary, you must select candidates from _**one party only.**_ You can pick all Democrat, Republican, or Independent but must be through your entire ballot. If you mix candidate choices from different parties, your ballot won’t count.
